Mombasa RFC saw off Kitale 8-0 in a fiercely contested match to secure a promotion to the KRU Championship League.
Dumes will join fellow coast based South Coast Pirates in KRU’s second tier.
The game went into the water break halfway through the first half with no points on the board even with the home team dominating the proceedings early on.
Continued pressure would pay off minutes later, Namusasi freeing Emmanuel Okeya on the outside with a long pass to score in the corner. Namusasi the missed the extra twos to leave the scores 5-0.
Namusasi would slot in a penalty minutes later to stretch the home team’s lead to 8-0 as the center referee signaled the end of the first half.
The second half proved a cagy affair as both teams traded possession to no avail. Both teams would miss a couple of penalties in a tense second half that would see the game take a break with a quarter an hour on the clock as the referee tried to bring the away fans under control.
The remaining quarter hour saw Kitale pile pressure on the home defense, the yellow defense stepping up to deny Kitale any points.
