Menengai Oilers put up a dominant performance at Moi Showground, securing a spot in the semi-finals of the Enterprise Cup with a resounding 53-5 victory.
The Oilers, who missed out on the Kenya Cup, are determined to claim silverware and got off to a strong start.
Menengai Oilers opener
Dennis Abukuse kicked things off by scoring a try, which was converted to give them an early 7-0 lead. This was followed by tries from Davis Otundo and Tyson Maina, with Otundo adding another to the scoreboard for a comfortable 24-0 lead.
The first half ended on a high note for the Oilers as Steve Ochieng added one final try before Ian Mabwa scored for their opponents, bringing the scoreline to 31-5.
Menengai Oilers second half
In the second half, Geoffrey Ominde contributed to the Oilers’ lead with a successful penalty, while Sheldon Wanjala added another try to their tally.
Abukuse scored his second try of the match, and Austin Sikutwa and Davis Nyaundi sealed the deal with the final two tries, earning the Oilers an impressive win.
