The KRU Championship semi-final pairings have been known after the conclusion of the league phase.
Its Diani based South Coast Pirates who topped the standings after nine wins and just two losses in 11 outings. Their 14-11 win over Kabarak University saw them finish the league with 42 points and will have a home semi-final against Mean Machine who finished fourth in the campaign after falling to Shamas Foundation on the final day of the season.
It will be a repeat of the February 19 2022 meeting which saw South Coast Pirates win 20-18 at the Seacrest. South Coast Pirates will be featuring in the semis for the first time as Machine seek to get back to Kenya Cup after last year’s heart break at MMUST.
The second semi-final will have newbies Shamas Foundation who grabbed the second position take on former Kenya Cup side Catholic Monks. Shamas beat Mean Machine on the final day to finish second while Monks saw off Northern Suburbs to finish third.
The semis will be played on Saturday 19 March 2022. Winners of respective semi-finals will get promoted to Kenya Cup. They will be promoted to replace Nondies and Impala Saracens.
